A casino’s banner can say anything. These checks take two minutes and tell you whether a site is actually licensed where you live.
In Ontario
- Open iGaming Ontario’s list of regulated sites.
- Find the exact website address you’re about to use, not just the brand name.
- Check the site shows that it’s registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
- Make sure you’re on the Ontario version of the site. You must be 19 or older and physically in Ontario.
In Alberta
- Check the operator is registered with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC).
- Use the site’s Alberta version; licensed brands keep their provincial sites separate.
- Confirm it offers deposit limits and AGLC’s self-exclusion program, which every licensed site must provide.
- You must be 18 or older and physically in Alberta.
Red flags
- A licence from somewhere else, such as Curaçao or Kahnawake, on a site aimed at Canadians. That isn’t a provincial licence.
- Big bonus offers in public adverts. Licensed operators in Ontario can’t advertise bonuses outside their own sites.
- Crypto-only payments or no way to set limits.
- The brand isn’t on either provincial list.
We’ve done the check for you. Every casino on our list appears on the official registries in both provinces.
